Take a look at some of the packages we have to offer as a guide, but remember we will cater for your companies specific needs so treat these as just some of the packages we have to offer, feel free to swap and change to suit. All our Activity and Team building packages start the day and throughout with fresh teas, coffees and home made cakes and biscuits we also cater for lunches. Please enquire about our menu for options available. 
Full Day Package with lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Team Building and Fun based

Blind man’s Shepperd - One team member must guide the rest of the team through a course and into the pen in the quickest time possible.
No verbal communication or contact may be used to guide the team members.
Each team formulate a system to guide team members. The course will include several different obstacles. Be prepared! Team members must begin in the start box. You may split your team up in any way you like and change rolls after each attempt if you like
 
Axe Throwing
ancient skill long forgotten; our instructor will help you reawaken this deadly art. You will be given full safety briefing and shown the best techniques to hold and release the axe.
 
Clay Pigeon Shooting - Each shooter will have 1 on 1 tuition with our experienced instructors explaining all you need to know on handling safety and eye domination ensuring an exhilarating and worth whilst lesson in life for shooting disciplines. In a beautiful back drop of Cumbrian mountains and fell side. 24 shots per person.
Refreshments - teas, coffees, water and homemade biscuits and cakes will be available throughout the day. You will have a 2-course home cooked lunch and team prize at the end of the day finish at approx. 3.30pm
Team Building Package with lunch and refreshments throughout the day.  
 
Glassier crossing – Welcome to the Gatebeck Glacier. Over the next 15 minutes your team will embark upon an icy journey from one side of the 'ice field' to the other. Equipped with two ladders, your group will soon discover that the route is not as straight forward as you may have first thought.
RULES FOR THE CROSSING:
1. The ladders are two different lengths and can only be used alternately to bridge the gaps.
2. All team members must be in contact with either a ladder of one of the ice pillars for the duration of the crossing.
3. The first two team members to cross ( the 'leader' and the 'second') will be fitted with harnesses and tied together as per alpine mountaineering tradition.
4. Any team member who loses contact with the ladders or the ice pillars will be out of the challenge.
5. The winning team will be the quickest to cross with all members safe and well

 SKI RACE
Your challenge is to travel across the course with your feet inside the bindings on the ski's provided.
The first team member must manoeuvre the skis by the approved method to points marked out in front of you. At each point, a team member will be waiting and must be 'picked up' by the team and added to the skis as described above.
Once all the team members are on board, you must round the marker at the top of the course and head back to the start point.
Points are awarded for, speed of journey, smoothness of manoeuvres, moving in unison
Full Day Package with lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Team Building

​Blind 4x4 – each team member must drive the vehicle blindfolded taking instructions from their team members to complete the obstacle course. Specifically designed to promote greater communication skills between team members this is timed but it’s not about speed but communication as any cone hit will bring a hefty time penalty
 
Digger driving – A team member is blindfolded and with only radio contact with their fellow team members must listen carefully to the team to complete the challenge of balancing the ball on the traffic cone - this is a lot harder than you may think! Again, encourages good communication skills between the team
 
Trebuchet- Your task is to design and build a trebuchet capable of launching an egg. Each team will get one chance to launch their egg. The egg to travel the furthest distance will be the winner.
It must be free standing but may be secured in a safe manner by the team. You as a team can put physical forces into the machine (i.e. pull it back) but it must launch using its own energy. In order to complete the task, you will be supplied with the following:
- 10 short canes
- 4 long canes
- Parcel tape
- 1 Piece of rubber
- String
- Scissors
The trebuchet must be free standing.
At the end of this period all work will stop on the trebuchets. A final "Launch off" will be held at the end of the day to decide a winner.
 
Archery - Archery is a superb team and individual activity. At Holmescales, taking aim means setting your sights on the latest equipment and excellent tuition. Our instructors will take you to the purpose-built archery shelter where you will be given a full safety briefing and the best technique to achieve the highest scores. You will be supervised and advised throughout the session to improve your technique and hopefully your scores.

​Quad Bike Trek – This will entail fast flat field with obstacles along the way, river crossing and even driving through a stream, 30 minutes guided Quaid Trek.

Cross Bow
This cross between air rifle and archery really is something else. Our instructors will show you the way to prefect your shot and achieve high scores.

GPS Rescue 1/2 Day approx. 3 hours 
Objective - The teams are informed of an accident involving a casualty, their whereabouts unknown. It is the teams mission to locate (somewhere in our 300 acre site) the casualty as quickly as possible.

Once the team have found their number the instructor will give you the next grid reference. There are five numbers to collect. When all five numbers have been handed to the instructor, the final grid reference to locate the casualty will be given. The first team to locate the casualty wins the challenge.
The teams are given a grid reference to input into their GPS personal navigation unit. On arriving at the grid reference a number card must be found and retained.
